Following on from the introduction of our interactive eVision Fleet Management System phase two of our IT expansion was the creation and installation of eVision Mobile (eVM).
eVM equips all drivers and inspectors with the latest Wi-Fi and 4G enabled handheld tablets (including eight inch quadcore Android devices) linking them directly to the main fleet system.
Via secure access it allows them to track the status of any vehicle including its past work details, to minimise delays and improve vehicle delivery. The eVM geo-mapping facility also gives drivers real-time updates on their vehicle’s position and progress and highlights any traffic issues.
Other features include built-in accident reporting and a photography and video inspection capability which enables drivers to log delivery and collection.
As well as producing immediate and comprehensive documentation for all involved, eVM enables the SMH team to react immediately (day or night) to meet our customer’s changing requirements.
