Following the UK Government’s latest announcement on Saturday 31st October and the new lockdown in England from Thursday 5th November, the SMH group businesses updates our clients as follows with regard our capability in this lockdown period.

After careful review, our Board of Directors are pleased to confirm we will operate as “business as usual” during this period of lockdown for the UK with some restrictions of movements in NI; for any movements in NI please liaise direct with your SMH account manager.

We have fully considered the implications of the weekend’s announcements before confirming our position and this is after thoughtful review and liaising with bodies such as the BVRLA and our own interpretation of the new rules.

At its core, the safety of our employees and our customers is absolute paramount and we assure you we will not compromise this.  SMH has robust COVID-secure compliant working practices in place, that said we fully understand if any clients may wish to halt any activities but we can confirm we will continue to operate largely as normal.

To be clear –

  • All PDI and logistics movements will continue to operate as normal through all our sites
  • All Refurbishment work / storage and movement will continue to operate as normal through all our sites
  • All logistics work will continue unless otherwise advised by clients
